Chantal Britt wins the Viktor Award 2023

The Viktor Award is presented annually in Switzerland to outstanding personalities in the healthcare sector. One of this year's winners is Chantal Britt, founder of the patient organization Long COVID Switzerland.

Chantal Britt has been working tirelessly for people affected by Long COVID in Switzerland since 2020; fighting to ensure that they become visible and find a place in the healthcare system.

The patient organization Long COVID Switzerland not only offers a platform for exchange between those affected, but also provides active support with many questions and hurdles that people affected by Long COVID are facing. For example, by providing advice on dealing with insurance companies or connecting them with specialists. As a representative of those affected, Chantal Britt was also involved in the development of the "Post-COVID Recommendations for primary care physicians".

Chantal Britt has now been awarded the Viktor Award for the "most outstanding personality" for her continuing commitment – an important sign that helps to draw more attention towards Long COVID. She dedicates the award to all people affected by Long COVID.

Four other people were honored with the Viktor Award this year. The prize for "Newcomer of the Year (Startup)" went to VIVA - Réseau de l'Arc, a fully integrated healthcare organization in the Jura Arc from the Swiss Medical Network, health insurer Visana and the canton of Bern. Prof. Sophie Marie Pautex, Head of Palliative Care at the Geneva Cantonal Hospital HUG, was honored for her "exceptional medical performance". Moreover, the Lower Engadine Health Center (CSEB) received the award for the "Most innovative cooperation between nursing staff, doctors and other healthcare professions" for its comprehensive range of services. It combines medical practices, hospitals, nursing homes and complementary medical services to provide patients with comprehensive support on their road to recovery. The award for the "most popular healthcare politician" went to Patrick Hässig, a trained nursing specialist.

We at Altea are delighted that people affected by Long COVID are receiving the attention they deserve in this context.

We would like to congratulate Chantal Britt and Long COVID Switzerland on winning the award and thank them for their unwavering commitment and valuable work!
